practical scriptwriter, scriptwriting software

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I work on scripts on other computers and move my files around on a flash drive?
You can save a script to any folder, or drive, using the "Save Project As" option (click the
little black arrow on the "Save Project" button and a dropdown menu will appear.

You can install the unregistered version on any Windows PC to edit scripts and use all
the functionality except Print and Export.

If Practical Scriptwriter (unregistered or registered) is installed on any machine, you can
double click the script file on your flash drive and edit it as usual. When editing files in a folder
other than the designated script folder the "Save Project" dropdown menu will also have an
option to "Save Into Scripts folder" option to easily update the master copy if this is what you
want to do.

Take care when moving files this way to avoid overwriting more recent work. Practical
Scriptwriter will prompt you before overwriting, however the more copies of a work in progress
the easier it is to overwrite something.

We suggest designating one machine to hold the Master copy and make regular checkpoint copies.
